Stephen Axelrod has been seen in numerous films: “Sons”
screened at The Cannes Film Festival, followed by a European
run “In the Soup” winner of the 1992 Sundance
Film Festival as well as Ron Howard’s “Ransom”
in which he played Detective Lieberman. For three seasons
Stephen appeared as Detective Catalano on “Law and
Order.” Recently he played Walter on “Law and
Order Criminal Intent”. Axelrod appeared for three
years in the hit Off-Broadway show "Grandma Sylvia's
Funeral," and many other stage credits too numerous
to mention.
Stephen has been featured in a number of commercials: Dell,
Digital Computer and Paxil.
He can be seen as a lead in the hit HBO film "Everyday
People". The film was screened at Sundance
Film Festival and garnered rave reviews in all the major
newspapers. “Everyday People” has been
nominated for a “Gotham Award” in the Breakthrough
Actor category of Ensemble.
In 2005 he appeared in Angel,
an HBO production.
He studied acting professionally with Robert X .Modica.
Stephen proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
He has a BA in Drama from Hunter College and is a former
member of the New York Stock Exchange.
